About Camp
Our main purpose is to foster positive social-emotional growth for all kids in our program. We do that by providing a safe, comforting, and fun environment where they can meet new friends and discover new, entertaining, and interesting places around Central Texas.
We offer weekly specialty camp choices centered around outdoor, indoor, or theme park destinations. We will practice 5 Core Camp Virtues every day to facilitate the best possible experience for all participants.
Our Specialty Camps
Outdoor Week
This camp focuses on visiting the very beautiful natural bodies of water and public parks in Central Texas. It will include hiking, swimming, kayaking, and more! We occasionally will escape the heat for bowling, arcades, laser tag, and other indoor adventures.
Indoor Week
This camp is geared toward the indoorsy crowd. It features venues such as Altitude Trampoline Park, Blazer Tag, Cidercade, EVO, and many more! We will also go outside from time to time for some sun and water fun.
Theme Parks Week
This camp will visit some of the best theme parks in the world. Depending on the week, we will take 2 trips per week to a major Theme Park. We take 2 visits a week so the campers can maximize their time at these wonderful venues. We’ll also visit smaller parks such as Volente Beach, Typhoon Texas, and Rockin’ River.
Camp Virtues
-
Our number one priority is to keep everyone safe from danger and injury. We will frequently remind kiddos to stay with their groups and to follow all safety practices of the venues we visit. Counselors will also effectively and consistently monitor their assigned groups.
-
Part of our mission is to help campers learn to be personally responsible and accountable for their behavior and their property. We all make mistakes and/or can be forgetful at times but it is important to accept the consequences of our actions.
-
We aim to emphasize the importance of listening and learning from our peers as well as recognizing the necessity of following directions from adults.
-
All who participate in camp (campers and counselors) will be encouraged daily to show kindness and respect to everybody they meet inside and outside of camp.
-
Being positive is essential at an adventure camp where many are trying something new for the first time and/or might be having a rough day.
We expect campers and counselors to be encouraging, motivating, and supportive towards everyone in a positive manner especially during moments when someone is struggling.
Letter from the Owner
Hello Parents and Guardians,
My name is Thomas Austin, and I’m the Owner/Director of Kidz Quest. I’ve worked with young people for more than 20 years in a variety of roles, including AAU Track & Field Coach, Summer Camp Counselor, Substitute Teacher, Preschool P.E. Coach, 5th Grade Science Teacher, and After School Site Director.
Most recently, from 2022–2025, I served as Program Director of a large after-school program in Austin, TX, overseeing 45–50 staff members across seven schools and supporting more than 400 students.
Through these experiences, I discovered my true passion is summer camps, which inspired me to found Kidz Quest and create fun, memorable adventures for kids and families.
I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2011 and am a big Longhorns fan. Outside of work, I enjoy concerts, movies, karaoke, grilling with friends, and spending time outdoors with my dog, Kiki, a German Shepherd mix who may join us on a few camp adventures this summer.
2027 will be the inaugural year of Kidz Quest, and we are excited to welcome your family for a summer filled with fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
We can’t wait to meet you!
— Thomas
